    We attended this event to raise awareness of the Self Care week and importance of self-care and to encourage stakeholders to take part in the campaign and to encourage self-care to their service users.

    One in four Lewisham residents is under 19 years old. Healthwatch Lewisham has a responsibility to engage with children, young people as well as parents and carers to find out what they think of the local health and social care services.

    Healthwatch Lewisham contacted the leader of Lewisham’s Diabetes UK Support Group to find out about the experiences of the group’s members using community care services as part of an Inquiry into Community Care Services.

    The aim of the project is to promote wellbeing and signpost public as appropriate to the services available for respiratory disseises sufferers through Breathing Well Champions volunteer outreach role.

    Healthwatch Lewisham visited residential homes with supported care and day centres for people with learning disabilities to assess if service users were being treated with dignity and respect, if they felt listened to and understood by their service providers and to see if services were person centred.

    Healthwatch Lewisham has been working closely with the Parent and Carer Forum as part of a consortium of CVS organisations who provide support, advice and signposting and information at the Kaleidoscope Children’s centre in Catford.

    On Monday 15 December, Healthwatch Lewisham held its 2nd annual event. Over 110 people attended including over 35 representatives from organisations and community groups, a reflection of the powerful voice Healthwatch Lewisham provides for service users of health and social care locally.

    Between April and October 2014, Healthwatch Lewisham has engaged with a variety of service users, carers, community and voluntary sector groups and staff, as well as the local residents in Lewisham to listen to their experiences of enablement and integrated care.

    Over the past three months the Save Lewisham Hospital campaign and Healthwatch Lewisham, Carers Lewisham and others have collected over 100 stories gathered from users, clinicians and managers to find out from people’s personal experience what are the key features, the magic ingredients that make good community healthcare so valuable.

    Healthwatch Lewisham gathered information on local people’s experience of discharge through community engagement, surveys and Enter and View visits. Over 200 patients, service users and carers contributed to the findings.

    This report presents the findings of service user feedback collated from engagement sessions carried out at the Kaleidoscope Children’s Centre in Lewisham.

    This report presents the findings of a review of service user feedback about the district nursing system in Lewisham. The purpose of the report is to assess the data collected about patients’ and carers’ experiences of the district nursing system.

    In 2022, Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust (LGT) commissioned Healthwatch Bexley, Healthwatch Greenwich and Healthwatch Lewisham to jointly deliver an extensive engagement programme over six weeks to understand the experience of patients when using LGT outpatient services with a particular focus on access and communication.

    Healthwatch Lewisham staff and Enter & View Authorised Representatives carried out a visit in November 2022 to Leah Lodge, a residential care home in Blackheath. During our visit, we spoke with staff, family, and service users about their experiences.

    Healthwatch Lewisham is proud to be presenting the Quarter 3 Report from 2022-2023. The report is a general overview of the work we have done for the Patient Experience programme, within the last three months and gives great insight into the health and social care needs of the people within our community.

    We engaged with 640 Lewisham residents between January and March 2023 to understand what they felt worked well and what could be improved about their health and social care services.

    From April to June 2023, Healthwatch Lewisham compiled over 1,000 reviews on patient experiences in GPs, hospitals, and other health services. Lewisham residents responded to how they were treated by hospital staff, quality of treatment, and appointment availability.

It provides services to women ages 18-65, with acute psychiatric illness. During the visit we talked to service users, staff, and management.

It provides services to men aged 18-65 with acute mental health problems. During the visit we talked to service users, staff, and management.

It houses two wards, Wharton and Powell, that provide services for women and men, respectively, with acute psychiatric illnesses.
