Stand to be a Trust Governor of South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and help shape the future of the Trust.

Elected governors play a vital role in making sure that the views of the wider community are taken into account in providing and developing our services.

South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust is holding an election to fill 11 vacant roles on the Council of Governors. Nominations opened on Friday, 15 August 2025, and online nomination forms are available on the election website.

Governors are the direct representatives of local communities and staff groups. They are there to hold the Trust’s Non-Executive Directors to account for the performance of the board, ensure the Trust is run according to its purpose and values, and to represent the interests of members and the public.

We currently have the following Governor vacancies available:

  • Public – one vacancy
  • Carer – two vacancies
  • Staff – three vacancies
  • Service User (local): resident in the boroughs of Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham, and Southwark – four vacancies
  • Service User (national): Rest of England – one vacancy
